The Difference the FTTA Has Made, Michael Davis

After one and a half years in the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA), I am still full of thanksgiving to the Lord for bringing me here. However, before I give my experience of the FTTA, let me give you a brief history of myself. I was born into a family that met with the local church in my city. Although I had many experiences of the Lord, I was not convinced that this place was right for me. I lived a double life--I had one lifestyle around the believers in the church and I had a different lifestyle around my friends who do not meet with the local church. As time went on my lifestyle continued to become worldlier. However, praise God, He brought all that to an end one night with a simple turn to Him. That night I was full of tears and remorse and God's presence was unlike any I had ever experienced before. Through this the Lord led me to the FTTA.

Being in the FTTA has been a new start for me. Once a person who never read the Bible, I am now one who looks forward to my time in the word. Once a person who never spoke to people concerning God, I now find it my greatest joy to lead someone to Christ. The Training has done things in me that I never imagined could happen. Here I am in an environment that is conducive to beginning and cultivating an intimate relationship with the Lord. In the Training, distractions from the Lord are minimal. There have been times when I have complained to the Lord about being in the Training. However, just by His simply showing me where I would be if it weren't for the Training, I was brought me to my knees and I was filled with thanksgiving and joy that He had mercy on me.

The Training has been a great place to begin a life with God that will continue the rest of my life. Here in the Training I am ministered six days a week by mature brothers in the Lord who really care for my going on with the Lord. I spend much time in the truth of the Bible and in learning how to dig into the truth. I am involved with serving the Lord in many different aspects, whether it is with young people, on the campus, or within the community where I live. There are many aspects of the Lord's service that I need to learn. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to be in such an environment to begin a relationship with the Lord that will only increase throughout the rest of my life.
